Default Jet Stream Blue

I have been set on getting a newer Vette, either an 11 or 12... My question is, I love the Jet Stream Blue colour. Is it possible to repaint the car this colour? I know a good shop could paint the car, but my concern is the paint and finding it. Any help would be appreciated.

Repainting a brand new car in a different color is not a simple or inexpensive undertaking. Mixing the paint is straightforward, and the process is well defined... but I recommend you get a couple of estimates before you commit to this course... you may find the cost is not in line with the reward. Also one must consider resale value at some point, and a non factory paint job on a newish car can send negative waves to prospective buyers...I for one would wonder why such thing was done in the first place. And I just might wonder at a seller's "because I liked the color" explanation for the deal.

I don't plan on ever selling this, and I fell in love with the colour.

The paint code for the Jet stream blue is either WA512 or WA516 off the top of my head and any jobber can mix that color to the code and the jobber can verify the right number or I can check when I get home.

When the sunomie hit Japan that was the only plant in the world that made the 2 different zerrellics used in the Jet stream Blue color, so GM discontinued the color due to paint shortages.

I painted the 74 that color as I knew I was going to buy a new one that color and wanted a match, back in 2009 I paid $800 for a gallon of base, after the storm hit I figured better buy a backup gallon, so if I get a scratch I don't need to repaint the whole car and I paid $1400 for the gallon of base.

You can get cheaper but the colors will not match the new ones in MOST of the companies even to be blend-able, the two I found that were dead on is the Debeers and the Dupont factory pack and I was told the Dupont jobber cannot match the color exact if they mix it in the store.

The plant is up and running now so prices may go back down, I have my base in Debeers and it is a dead match for my 2011.

SO yes you can change color but it will not be cheap and I would guess if a shop that knows how to do a vette right, the cost is going to be $12,000-18,000 for a job done right.
