So I finally talked myself into removing the wing. Love the original look now, but need to find the best matrial to fix the holes. The car is a low mileage one in perfect condition and want to keep it that way. The rear cap will be removed, fixed, painted and re installed. My brother in law has his own shop and does great work, but I would like to hear all comments before proceeding to make me feel better about this job.
Filling holes in an SMC rear deck like you want to do in not for the faint hearted.
If your relative works on vettes all the time, he will know what to do, if he does not, good chance you will see the repair every time you pull it in the sun and then it will go way when sun goes down.
Either put spoiler back on or at least save it and you can put it back on to hide the problem if you have one.
To answer your question only half chance, is using an epoxy type resin and Matt to start, he will know that, if he works on the newer SMC models. (polyester type will not work)
An expert in New hill, NC would be WOMBLE CORVETTES, if close you may talk to him.
