I need to upgrade from my 2hp Sears unit (which has provided good service) to a larger unit so I can use HVLP guns and also for my gel coat spray jobs.
That does look like a great deal... I went with a Kobalt (Lowes) 5 HP, 80 gallon, 230 Volt, 16.1 CFM @ 90... My SATA spray gun required over 14 CFM, so those are the figures I looked at... Reg price on my Kobalt is $849, and it was on sale for $799, 10% military discount, and free shipping... I would expect the major retailers to ALL have sales next weekend for the 4th... See what CFM your gun requires, and make an honest assessment of your air needs... If you are going to run a DA, sand blasting cabinet, etc, you need as much CFM as you can afford... Unfortunately, I had to pay an electrician $130 to install a 230 circuit and plug in my garage which I didn't find that bad!!! Oh year, I was able to sell my compressor (getting picked up next Saturday) for $600... So I basically rented the compressor for 9 months for less than $200... Will get a new one in Belgium once we get there...
Looks like a good deal. I have a 5hp 60 gal from Home Depot with 11.3cfm @40lbs. I have an Ingersall Rand at my office bought through Northern tool and it has done well.
Thanks all for your replies. After further analysis, reviews weren't as good as I hoped for - ie: Industrial "Heavy Duty" in name only. For my purpose (and thanks for the Home Depot and Lowe's ideas), these look the same unit and would probably be an even "better" deal.
The compressor I have is the Husky. I kept the wooden base that the compressor was shipped with and put 4 wheels, two fixed and two swivel, on it so I could easily move the compressor. My $.02.

My thinking is that if they help me get it in my S10, I can get it out and into the garage
