Clear coat ppg
Using PPG DCU 2020 can you spray over it with out scuffing it down? Have a door which is poorly done rough texture! What would be the steps to prep to spray over it. Is PPG DCU 2082 a speed clear a good choice?

You will need to scuff it / sand it

I would wet sand and reclear with same clear. If you just scuff and have a rough surface you will still have a rough surface when you finish, of course I guess it does matter as to what you are calling rough.

There is a speed clear 10 minute flash and you have to strip to base coat which is a bitch. The first time i shot the clear was a bad batch right from the PPG people. . Would have never new but i was doing a booth change over and we were doing the electrical. I was doing electrical work for a large paint retail store who made the connection with paint change over. Who ever is low bid and supplys the least expensive products gets to supply paint, at this time it was a Chevrolet Dealership. It is a lot of fun to hand sand bad clear off a 77 corvette when you find out they sold you $300.00 worth of ****
