I have a broken screw that's gonna cause damage trying to get it out. And it's too small of a screw in diameter to drill out. And it's pretty rusty, too. Can't get vice grips on it, it's flush with the surface. If I take a punch to it it's gonna bust a hole in the fiberglass around it.
It's the outer screw on the inner door jamb which screws down the door weatherstrip. Meaning the screw that's closest to the door hinge.
If I just put the inner screw back into it (meaning the screw that's farthest away from the door hinge on that side of the door and load that side of the weatherstrip where the screw is broken with adhesive, leaving the broken screw in there, do you think it'll hold? I suppose I could just drill another hole next to it and give th weatherstrip a little stretch, but it's cutting it kind of close drilling so close to the spot where the screw is broken. The area looks kind of weak and it started to crumble a little when I was trying to get the vice grips to bite on the busted screw. Thanks for input.
Nevermind, sorry. The hole in the weatherstrip didn't exactly line up where the one broken screw was anyway. Though, the other three screws did line up with the pre-drilled holes. I just drilled a new hole. Lucked out without having to do any stretching. Done.
