Looking for some advice on whether or not this is possible. I have finished my paint, base coat clear coat...(by myself in my garage, never painter an entire car before). ). I used a Glasurit clearcoat. I have colour sanded and buffed with a wool pad. I am quite satisfied with the results. I have a small imperfection, it’s in the basecoat, and I know I cannot sand /buff it out.
The question is, since I am colour sanding would I be able to sand the clear down with say 800 wet, base coat over the imperfection then re-clear just that tip of the fender, like a 4x4 inch area then colour sand and buff again. Would you notice where the new clear ended and the old began? The paint is about 3-4 weeks old. Any thoughts? Advice.....Thanks in advance.
Yes you can, But you will need to burn in the clear. Many steps to burn in clear coat. Watch some youtube videos. The best is to re-clear the whole fender.
