I have been looking through the repro body panels
( fenders hoods rear quarters ect) from Wilcox and other similar places. How is the fitment on them. At this point I am in no need for new panels Other than a hood ( what kind of moron LETS their dog sleep on an l88 hood) I’m just curious because I know other panels for other cars are ehhh at best. Are these repop panels pretty good or do they need a bunch of massaging to fit.
Is it something that can go on with little to no modification. I know some of the other gm repops don’t fit at all like most matched body lines gaps too big because there isn’t enough length or the bolt holes ( I know not an issue here ).
I hope the factory uses this forum as a gauge for build quality, given the creeping price of the car I would like to get my money's worth. I have a 2023 htc (over $100K, no markup) coming in soon and I hope it is better than the 2020 coupe (to me. this is still a lot of money for a car). The passenger door was so bad (plus headlight chipping paint), I sold the car. However, my last new porsche 911 had no issues...well my last C7s had no issues both the 2014 coupe and the 2017 vert were great. My problem with the dealer body shops are they are hit or miss; it depends on the dealership; sometimes they do more damage. Yeah, I know, first world issues...
