I have a 2017
the red paint has mostly worn off or heat destroyed. Something.
I would like to repaint them. Can I just use red paint or do I need something special?

There are a ton of paints, hydro film, and clear that can see temps up to 450 degrees before causing an issue. The C8 engine bay does not see those temps and if it did, you got some major problems to worry about. “Get creative and make it your own”
I don't understand the need for the big "secret" for the Edge Red paint. GM uses this color for the Calipers and the Engine Covers on the C8 and I wouldn't be surprised if the color is used on other models in the GM lineup! Has anyone ever asked GM for the paint code for Edge Red?
I found a red that is a direct match. Duplicate-Color Toreador Red metallic # BFM0344. It is a Ford color. I sprayed it on a piece of cardboard for color test. I can not paint my cover until spring because the car is in winter storage.
