Early C4 Paint Correction

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday. I have an '86 two-tone, I am the second owner, first owner was a garage-kept, under cover guy and the original paint looks great overall. Just wanted to take out the swirls. Any warnings before I take a correcting pad to 36+ year old paint job? I have a Ryobi Dual Action polisher, looking to go with Pinnacle Natural Brilliance Advanced Swirl remover with an orange pad. Thanks in advance.
