alot of people have this problem. i had a 98 coupe for a while, but am without a vette right now, and am going to get a Z06. i remember when I got rid of my runcraps and bought the new Michelin PS2's....that made a HUGE difference. HUGE. those tires were the best street tires I ever drove on. the best. and I drove the d3's too. and right after that I lowered it, and that also helped, i rarely noticed it after that. alot of people will disagree on this probably, but I think it's a suspension issue. First, in the design of the car...the monospring concept. But as I was saying, I think to get rid of wheel hop, the best thing to do is get the fe1 suspension, or base suspension. it's soft, and absorbs the weight transfer to the rear. I'm thinking the stiffer the suspension, the more hop. better for corners and all of that stuff of course. but the torque just needs to go somewhere, just needs to be absorbed? what suspension package are you equipped with? and maybe a full tank of gas might help..the added weight. Corvettes are light and powerful. very torquey. i wonder if those who use a 19" tire still experience this? let me know if you get rid of it somehow.
from what I understand about the majority of wheel hop on the vettes is due to cold weather and or cold tires... there is somebody that can explain it alot better on here somewhere... try heating up your tires good and try it again...
