Currently have about 400rwhp. Im really tempted to go with 4.10s but Im afraid that once I decide to put my car on the bottle it will be too much gear. Will 3.90s be a better choice? Plan on running a 150 shot at most.
Also, I really liked the stage 3 DTE IRS until I saw the price. Its a big jump in price compared to the stage 2. Is there any other company that puts out a built IRS with upgraded output shafts for a more reasonable price?
I would say going to a 3:90 would ne a good choise. I ran a 75 shot on top of my old H/C package that had 396 RW. I was traping 128 witht eh juice on and comming across the traps on the rev limiter at 7000RPM with 4:11's 3:90's should give you about 135MH i would imagine?
What are you trapping now? My 75shot took me from 122.28 to 128.36mph
Well, I have not ran my car yet. But soon will be doing gears and later N02. I dont want to have to do gears twice. What were your times before and after the N02? 60 ft? What do you think Ill run with a 150 shot, built rear end, clutch and DRs?
I already have headers and intake. My mods are as follows...
LG lontubes w/o cats
Borla stinger
Donaldson blackwing/power duct etc.
G5X3 on a 114 lsa
comp 921s
titanium retainers
chromoly pushrods
dyno tune
I plan on running drag radials and Im a little hesitant doing that with my stock rearend. Id rather have a built one in before I run a sticky tire. But I also would feel a little weird going with the same gears. I was planning on going with something a little lower. My cam doesnt really make power down low and I think I would benifit from gears seeing that it would get me in my powerband quicker. Anyone else build performance IRS rearends other than DTE cause I really dont want to spend $3500 for one. Id like the upgraded shafts as well.
I'm running 3:90s; on the bottle it's getting close to the rev-limiter in 4th through the traps. The more you spray the less gear you need. A good compromise for you may be the 3:73s. This will help on motor only runs and not hurt significantly when you spray.
I run in the American Super Car Challenge series on a 10.5 index; runs below the index do me no good so I have not chased after low ETs. I have run a 6.67/104.6 1/8 at NED. At Atco I ran a 10.42/134.18 into a 20 mph headwind. I don't powershift either. I believe the car is capable of very low 10s on the right day with perfect driving.
