How does one lay claim to a record that he/she has broken? How can they possibly verify that they are indeed that person in all the US? Say quickest C5 vert, quickest LS1/LS6, quickest NA all street LS1/LS6 and so on. I never really cared about that stuff as I figured it was just crap that got tossed around the message boards to bolster ones business or reputation, that was until I opened an issue of one of the recent car mags, and BAM! right there is someone laying claim to being the first street driven LS1/LS6 to break into the 7's. I just wanna know were I go to see who holds which record and how it can be verified, so when I go to lay claim to something, I will truly know that I was the first.
Maybe I can lay claim to the first MY C5 coupe to run a 13.00 1/4 mile with a 5 sec reaction time at 105mph.

Aww man, I thought you were talking about me for a minute. But then I read the "MY" part and realized the title has been taken.
worst run:
60' 2.4 sec
1/4 13.2
at 117 mph!
And all this with 413/387 rwhp/tq
Sorry I can not answer the other question for you, but I felt compelled to atleast respond to your post as no one else has yet.
