Default Back from the track!

Back from the track!!
Had a good time at the track today

The weather was nice (59 degrees with baro of 30.1) but there was a fairly strong headwind (~15mph)

DA was ~800 feet

Here is how I ran the car:

32 psi in the rears (runflats)
39 psi in the fronts
traction control off
Car in "D"

Mods:
TCI 3000 stall
TPIS headers
Halltech Stinger
stock 2.73 gears
160 stat
Stock Goodyear runcraps at 32psi

St. Thomas didn't have ANY VHT to put down. (They havent BOUGHT any yet)

Traction was a BITCH but it sure was FUN!

For all runs I was forced to launch off idle and feather the throttle. (spun all the way into second gear at ~60mph)

Best run of the day (feathering the gas)

sixty: 2.226
330: 5.779
1/4 ET 13.07 (So close to 12's first time out)
1/4 mph 110.0

Ran a couple 13.0s 13.1s, 13.2s all around 109-110mph

Traction was so bad I left the track to fill up the tank with gas and come back halfway through the day.

(Taner offered to jump in the hatch but I didn't think the tech staff would allow it LOL!)

Anyways, it was a great day. With DRs, a mild 1.80 sixty and no headwind I think ~12.4's at ~112mph will be possible.

That wont be too bad for a couple of boltons

Congrats.

However while I do think with some DR's your E.T. will dip I don't believe you will get a faster trap.

The tendancy is to stay the same or loose a MPH or so.

Best of luck to ya' in finding the 12's

The DRs will help a bit as will a calm day. 15mph headwind wasn't helping the mph at all

In my old combo (when I had the 360ci motor in my f-body) I went 12.0@119-120 on street tires. Bolted on slicks and went 11.15@123.95. Similar weather same track. DRs gave me 11.8s@121mph.

When I had the 385ci setup it was even more pronounced. (127mph on slicks vs 123mph on street tires)

I had an 01 - A4 with 3000Yank and LT headers...on runflats I ran 22-24lbs in the rears and got 1.9 - 2.0 60ft and 12.5-6 in quarter....you should be able to get 60ft down from 2.3 even on runflats (?) ... good luck on hitting the 12s.

Nice run!!!! I tend to agree with Aquaman. That line of reasoning seems
to be the norm. And they say 2.73s are loosers

I love the 2.73's. The car is a beast on the interstate downshifting to 2nd and the mileage is still perfect!

Going again this saturday. They'll be spraying the track and I have adjusted my shiftpoints up from 5800rpm 1-2 to 6200rpm and 2-3 from 6000 to 6200rpm.

Hoping for 12s@111-112mph if I can hook
