Default where to start...?

i just picked up a 97 c5 corvette with the A4 trans.
i have never been around vettes before so i dont even know where to start. i was looking to change out the gear, thrown on exhaust and a Cold air intake...what are your thoughts? what brand is recommended...the best bang for buck on everything...just so i dont have to buy another cold air intake later on the i should have bought originally...also i am used to a manual car, my 1st auto sports car so i dont know too much about trans work...whats recommended? i did put on some nitto 555r tires for the strip already so i should be able to hook...this will be an around town driver and a 4x per month drag racer...lookin for a constant mid 12 or less... let me know please...

I would suggest a vararam, 3600 stall TC and a 342 or 373 rear end. Then get the car dyno tuned you will be in the mid twelves.

This is also a good time to beef up your diff with the heavy duty stuff from DTE if you plan on adding more power later, like heads/cam and then blower.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the forum!

Go with the Yank SS3600, and 3.73 gears. I would also recommend LT headers if your wallet can stand it. With a good dyno tune your car should be in the low 12s consistently and could possibly hit the high 11s once in awhile on a nice cool day with low humidity.
