I am scheduled to have my cats removed this weekend but now I am concerned with the smell and possibly no gains at all.

I have LT headers but every part of exhaust component is stock on my Z06. So, I am planning to remove cats and replace it with pipes to H-Pipe.

I've read many mixed reviews of no cats. Some say they gains one tenth and some say, they actually lost tq. The smell is a big concern because I do like driving my Z06 as much as I can as long as weather is good so I'm hoping the smell isn't there.

They can make a big difference on a blown car. My old Vortech LT1 Camaro gained 40 RWHP when we dumped the cats.

40 RWHP??? That almost sounds unbelieveable.

I no longer have the dyno sheets, but the car went from 569 RWHP to 610. BTW, the cats were OEM GM items, so high flow cats might have split the difference. The engine was forged 383, 8.3:1 C.R. running an intercooled T-Trim Vortech at 15 psig.

Well, got the cats removed.

Wow, it if friggin loud, I didn't think the exhaust note would be this loud, it sounds like I have no mufflers.

As for smell, there is little more than before but nothing to be concerned with. The only thing I don't like is the when I decel, I get some back firing from the exhaust, it's pretty loud.

I'm going to the track this evening, I'll post to see if there is any improvement on my ET/Trap Speed.

Had cats, and then installed new set of LGs x pipe, no cats... No problems, except for extra carbon on the exhaust tips No smell in the cabin! I was going to have cats put back on, but i'm saving myself the money for a more worthwhile mod
