Default Installed ported T.B. WOW

This must be what my setup needed! Bought a CNC machined T.B. from Katech & did a Coolant bypass while I was at it. The idle lope has become louder same while driving. Midrange power really pulls even more. As the computer adjusts itself I expect even more from this setup. I feel the $165. was well spent

Great that it worked out for you. I was planning on going with a Shaner. What was it about the Katech that made you decide to go with them?
BTW, I've decided to have a Yank SS3200 installed and run it with my 3.15s. Thanks for your thoughts and advice. Another question, did you order the Yank driveplate for $159, or use your stock plate? did you experience any vibration following the torque converter installation?

Katech is about 4 miles from my home, AND they are the people who have been & are building the engines for the C5-C6 factory racing teams. Need I say more

Do you happen to have their website address? I tried www.katech.com but it didn't work. Thanks!

Default Katech Ported TB

I was on their site but couldn't find anything about their ported TB. Do you need to call them up about getting one done? Did they do yours or was it on an exchange basis? I may be in the area soon and would like to pick one up.

Call up the Katech website and hold your cursor on "Street Performance" and then click on "Engine Products" when it comes up. Scroll down to "Throttle Bodies" and click on it. Voila!

Cam is stock but I have Yella Terra 1.8 shaft mounted roller rockers which add about .030 lift to the cam. I have notice that after the EMC adjusted the idle went back to what it had been, but still has a slight lope. The big difference I'm noticed is mid range torque, seems to have punch when I get on the Freeway.

Default Throttle Bodies

I have read so much about throttle bodies on the Forum that I am really confused. Some say its a waste of money and some guys say they got real great results from this mod.I wish I knew some one in the area that would allow me to borrow an extra thats been modded so I can get the real scoop.I am not saying these guys are fibbing, but there is an never ending debate on T.B.'s.I would like to try one just to satisfy my curiosity.Question: Do you need to reprogram my computer with this mod or will the computer automatically compensate for the additional air?

The ported ones are 78mm standard GM TB's.

The compuer will "learn" this change in about 100 miles. I'm told no need for a retune, per Shawn & Kirk.

Katech claims 5-6 hp on a stock engine ...........
