Default Anyone up for a challenge....

Tommy is interested in see who is interested in showing up for a little action... Do we have any takers? This is in response to the Ls1tech shootout coming up at SAR which replaces the Thunder shootout which was wrecked by Katrina... Anyhow, like I said, any takers....

I asked around to find out why so few corvettes had signed up to race. The answer was that historically, they have been chicken s--- and didn't want to race f-bodies. That is somewhat understandable because of the rear ends and automatics, but at least one c5 will give them a hell of a race and that's our rig. This brings me to my subject. ----- My partner is very reserved but I don't suffer from the same afflication. I think we have the fastest street legal, NA, 346, six speed, c5, in the country. Same day - same place. Why don't all you fast corvettes come try to prove me wrong. If it's prize money that concerns you; here is what I propose. Each c5 six-speed that would qualify for super stock ( that wants to ) put up $100-$200 and the fastest time for the day takes it.-- This would work better because we won"t necessarilly be running against each other.

Here is the original thread which has gotten very little response.

Good, now that I have you attention...

Katrina wrecked the Thunder Shootout in La. As a result, ls1tech has put together an event at San Antonio for Nov 12th. Here is the issue.

Everyone says "Right on", "we'll be there", etc... When it comes time to man up and pay entry fees all we hear are crickets chirping. Right now we're looking for 50 pre-pays. The entries are being asked for via paypal so that if the race doesn't happen because of poor registration all funds can be refunded.

So, hence my reason for the thread. Who is going to man up and come race? A lot of folks talk about racing. Now its time separate the talkers from the do-ers. There are classes for everyone including heads up and bracket classes. So, no one with an LT1/LS1 has an excuse...

In fact the bracket class is open to all GM powered vehicles.... So, you have even less excuses there.

We're going to be there with the Z06, and we're looking for some other cars to come out and make this event interesting. Keep in mind this event already has coverage from Hot Rod and GMHTP.

Official thread:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387727

Prepay info:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387721

So, who going to come race our slow Z06 ??? If we don't get 50 prepays by Saturday there is a god chance this event won't happen. So again, who is going to step up? Tommy even said if some of the guys from up North want to come play, we'd consider coming to play up at Atco with y'all this winter.

So, lets make it interesting. Who wants to come play?

Tommy waited about ayear and a half too long to have a shootout for heads/cam C5's all the fast heads and cam guys have moved up to strokers or FI or sold there cars , Brent went 10.51 two years ago , if he still had H/C he'd probably be running 10.3-10.4 , good luck with your race .

P.S If Brent was still heads and cam he'd still kick Tommy's butt .
