Default Track tonight

Well took it to the track tonight for a personal best, I cant get my 60ft time below a high 1.8X or I think I could go into the 11's finally.

R/T: .221
60' : 1.866
330: 5.182
1/8: 7.897
MPH: 89.23
1000: 10.219

1/4: 12.162
MPH: 116.68

Not to shabby for my baby cam I guess.

Based on your mods, you should be in the upper 10's (on ET Streets)...No offense at all meant.
Piloted right, you could see 11.4-11.5 on street tires.
Back to your run, your mph is low. You should be shifting at redline each shift & shift super fast!

todd gimme that car for one pass it'll go 11s You've got 50 RWHP on me yet im trapping 118.5 and going 11s. its all in the burnout. The 1.86 isnt that bad but 1.7s should be easyily attainable.

hmmmm well there was a lingenfelter maggie car there that was an auto, he has 3.42 gears an consistent 1.7X 60ft times, he was running 12.3XX's all day at about 110mph. His car was 412rwhp and 404rwtq.

Any ideas why we were both so slow then?

todd, i posted earlier but as i said they moderate my other name and it takes a week for my posts. I make 50 less RWHP yet am .5 and 4 mph faster then you w/ only a 1.7 60'. Its all in the shifts and launch. I bet you let me take 2 passes in your car and i'll go 11s. Your MPH bothers me somewhat though. You should still trap 118-119 at least like me if now higher. Id like to put my scanner on it again and maybe my wideband.

ANother reason I wanted you to get that dynojet run file was so i could overlay it over my graph to look at the curves. Its not about peak HP its about power under the curve. YOu may peak way more then me, but it could be for such an insignifigant amount of time to render it useless on a track.

Look at my dyno here : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...2&forum_id=108

and see where I make peak hp (6100ropm). I was talking with my buddy Dave (TTvert) and he told me I should be shifting beyond 6100rpm where I peak out.

I'm a track novice as you can probably tell and and looking for tips to get better times. My car has an aluminum flywheel and revs quickly but also loses revs when the clutch is in for the same reason. So where should I be shifting?

read this todd. http://mclements.net/mrc-PowerTorque.html i cant find the shift point calculator right now but looking at my dynosheet you are up on me hp/tq wise the entire band. I peak at 6100 ish too and if i dont shift at 6500 it'll slow down and lose a few MPH. Ditto if i go above that to 7k.
my dyno sheet:

Then I should be shifting at like 6300 or just before 6400 because at 6500 my Hp and TQ are both plummeting yes?

it has more to do w/ using the most powerband based on hp/tq and gearing then actuall hp drop. You need to figure out at what point you are not accelerating better with the numerical gearing advantage vs. loss of hp. IE you may be making more actual torque based on gearing by reving higher and in turn putting yourself into a better spot in the powerband in the next gear. The loss of shifting a bit out of your powerband may be way offset by being at a better part of the band in the next gear. I gotta find the site I was ooking at but I just try many different shift points based on trans and rear gearing setup at the time.

I got the same so shift 6400 to 6500 to stay in powerband after each shift. Cool thanks.
