Drag Radials which size

Hi Guys,

Before I buy tires and rims for racing, I'd like to know what would work better a 16" rim or 17" rim with a Mickey Tire on it.
I ran at Moroso for the first time after my mods and tune, and ran a 12.6 @ 118,my sixty foot sucked at 2.3. I went just to get a feel for the car with the new power running my GS D3"s

I think if you have the 17" wheel, the 17" ET Street radial is fine. If you are buying new wheels, I might go 16"

I don't have rims yet, and I am thinking the 16" wouldn't shock the drivetrain as much because of the larger sidewall. Will they clear the stock calipers? And if you know what offset would be good.

John, depending on your budget I would call CCW and order his drag package. This is 16's all the way around. I think they are about $2200.00 I am currently waiting on my skinnies that I ordered a month ago. I am running the 17" M/T ET Streets on the rear as I cannot yet afford the CCW rears. See you Saturday.

I don't know if they work John, The CCW's are correct for our cars. You can also use the ZO6 fronts with 17" ET Streets Thats the combo I have on the rear of mine at the moment.

They turn up in the for sale section fairly often.

I have used firebird 5 spoke, you still have to do the ball joint massaging and may have to shave the inside of the wheel some and you are limited to the 10.5 tire.

Use the 16", you have to hammer down the cap on your upper ball joint, but no big deal. I've use the 16x8 fbody rims like Edgar mentioned, they're the best bang for your buck. I have a set, if you need them pm me.

Thanks Jason, I'm going to see what I can find here locally and if I don't have any luck I'll let you know for sure.
