That's amazing. I never realized there was such a thing as a bad driver.
That's for sure. The Z06 driver needs help. Nothing against the SRT8, they run good for what they are. No way they should beat a Z06 weighing in about 1000 lbs more.
I saw a stock SRT8 300C run a 12.8, bone stock. This was with a -1500 DA, so as long as you can drive, a Z should have no problem beating one of these.

He must have had a lot of tail wind pushing that 4500 pound sled, LMAO Then again they dyno 450-460 HP at the flywheel, but it's still 4500 pounds of automobile.
OK, well just to let you guys know that 300SRT8 was with ported heads, and paxton blower, long tubes etc. That particular run I think they ran an 11.8@???mph
I'm currently buying a Jeep SRT8 for a daily driver so don't get me wrong I think they're good engines. As long as they don't start getting cocky now that it beat a Z06. Look how much money, and mods it takes for them to barely edge out a stock Z06.
Ah yes, someone neglected the fact of the supercharger giving it 500HP at the wheels. With that kind of power even 4200 lbs can move fast, just like a Mercedes S55 or S65. It looks like the Z06 driver wasn't the greatest, but I don't think a perfect driver would beat 11.88 with a stock Z06.
BTW, I love the Z06, especially the C6 version, and I'm sure with minor mods even the C5 version would beat the supercharged SRT.
almost stock 2006 z06 ran 11.54 while he bogged the launch...I can't believe a Corvette driver threw the race....must have been paid.
That's a nice Vette. I want one. The one in the video definitely was not the new Z06. I still haven't seen one on the road so I'm guessing they're hard to get and selling for well over MSRP.
Brent's ('brent eb02') 300C SRT-8 ran a 12.56@111+ in stock trim, amazing cars. I like the Charger SRT-8 even more.
Of course no way a stock SRT-8 is beating a properly driven stock Z06, (C6 or even C5 versions).

Launching a 3100 lbs car with 400 rwtq. and a 6 speed manual is not something people will master without some serious seat time at the track. Took me well over 3 dozen runs at the track b/4 I could get consistanly into the low 12's. My first run at the track yeilded a 13.8.... :o
Not a hell of alot a SRT-8 driver can do wrong in an auto. Mash the gas pedal, and hold on to the steering wheel. Voila, consistant high 12's all day.

Anything modded can beat a stock Z06. All depends how much $$ you sink into it. Some cars take more than others.
Hell, you can make a Honda Civic beat a stock Z06 with enough money thrown at it.

Hi LS1LT1 -
Seriously? It ran a 12.56 1/4 mile bone stock?
I thought I read that those were a mid to high 13 second 1/4 mile car.
Not supercharged - no big deal - my point here is (wihtout having to become a Dodge expert) is that the car is reported as a mid to high 13 second car (admirable for a 2 ton plus car), and LS1LT1 has reported a stock one running 12.56.
**EDIT** OK guys - I was really interested in a 4160lb car that could run mid 12's....But......I find on the SRT8/300C forums that these are really mid 13 second cars stock, and here is a link to a post by a fellow with a 2006 SRT8 who installed a supercharger on the car. With a s/c , the car is running times in the upper 12's @ 111-114 mph. That is more what I suspected to be the truth about SRT8's. http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt...-yourself.html
