Hi guys,
Can someone tell me the ratio of horsepower at rear wheels
to horsepower at flywheel.
Is stock 345hp of c5 at rear wheels or flywheel?
Coming to US from New Zealand in 4weeks to buy my first vette. Cant wait.
I found out stock horsepower on c5 is 345 at flywheel.
Guy I talked to had dyno on stock car at 285 at rear wheels.
Thats about 20% (with m6 transmission)
Big difference

The C5's got a bump from 345 to 350 bhp in 2000 I believe.
Thats still a little weak for an M6 car but it equates to ~17%. Remember power is LOST through the drivetrain when doing the conversion math.
285whp/.83 = 343bhp OR 343bhp X .83=285whp
A variety of things could cause it to dyno lower than typical. Even the A4s are making 290-300 at the wheels.
Unless it was done on a Mustang dyno as they tend to yield lower #'s than a Dynojet.
