Hey, was just at the track tonight and made some passes. I have not been to the track in awhile because I was in Iraq for a year, but now I can finally get some seat time. I havent had much time at the drag strip, but I think I am already addicted to it. I have a 2000 C5 coupe 6 speed with Vararam, SLP MAF, Borla straight pipes. No programming as of yet, but I am thinking of it, just not sure if it would benefit from my minor mods. I launched around 1500rpm and got slight wheel spin all four runs. The question I have is how can I improve my 60' times. Are my times average and how can I improve on my times? I live near a 1/8 mile track and it is very convenient for me to get there from work. Next week I will run at Bradenton on the 1/4, but I wanted to get some tips and pointers on how I can improve my times even more. any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.Time slips are below.
Possibly the best advice about improving your drag racing techniques on the Forum comes from Ranger. Use the search function and review his posts. Here's one: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1341801
get a set of sticky drag radials. also frc tom at anti venom (right down the road from you) has been known to squeeze out about 30 more hp from a stock motor with just a tune. also a 4.10 gear will help too.

Before doing further mods to your car, suggest focusing on the driver component. Might want to read though the write up on C5Z launch techniques in my signature. Most of it applies to your car too.
