Hey guys, I have an 02 C5 Ls1 6-speed, and am trying to get this thing to break into the 11's, I wanted to try the Lingenfelter 350 CID 480 BHP Kit that runs for about $9,000. Iam planing on getting MT street drag radials and wanted to know if you think thats a good kit to hit 11's with. My other car is an 05 Wrx STi that i recently ran a 12.2 with. Dont hate me for owning an import too
11's would be iffy. It looks like that 480hp package is for Z06's, not regular C5's. The same parts would work, you'd just have lower numbers.
It's just my personal opinion, but $9,000 for a heads/cam/headers package is absolutely outrageous. You could build a 402 stroker and install it for that kind of money. I skimmed through the parts listed in that package and I estimated around $3,500 in parts. $5,500 for install/tune seems a bit out of line. Just my .02.
That is way to much money for heads and cam.. I would have to agree that you could do better with less money.. Your paying just for the name.. Not that's a problem with the Name but the money..
I agree with the price being high for what Iam getting in that package, for my 100% stock 02 C5 Lsl, What do you guys suggest for mods to hit maybe an 11.84. I dont want Nos and having to carry a spare bottle of premixed alcohol in my Sti, I wanna stay away from alchy injection if possible.
You can get all top of the line **** for that.... These are all top of the line parts... you can easily spend half of this and make 450 rear wheel with my combo, see sig
AFR 205 heads 2200
g5x3 cam 400
ASP ud pulley 110
bolts and gaskets 100
ls6 intake used 300
lg pro lt's 1400
Corsa pacecar 1100
Raptor CAI 300
ls7 clutch 500
install and tune 1800 maybe
about 8k for a full bolt ons bad machine with close to if not 500 rwhp and that can run low 11's all day long. If you realy wanna spend that much you can even throw in some 390 gears and output shafts and maybe break tens.
yeah thats way to high. i just had the following done and shipped to me from mti. ran me $7900 to my door!
forged 347
stage 2 ls6 heads
g1 cam
ported oil pump
timing chain
gaskets and bolts
And don't forget having to live on the East coast, as well.
I have put 2 LS1 Camaro's into the 11's with just bolt-ons. One running 11.74 and another 11.70. Even if you take the "East Coast" away, all things being equal [traction, driving skill, etc] they would still crack 11's elsewere. It might not be an 11.7, but it can be an 11.9
The original question simply asked what will it take to go 11's. It was never said 11.9 or 11.1

That is way too much money. I spent a little more than that, got more HP and I had gears and a converter installed along w/ a H/C package. Mine is from the Vette Doctors. I just missed the 11's a couple of weeks ago. I ran 12.03 in 85+ degree heat.
