i wanted to know if anyone has any info on how much hp does shorty headers give over stock...and LT over stock.....i really wanna want headers but LT are too expensive plus i have a nice h-pipe on my for shortys.......
Nope, but according to the seller, they install in "just 2 hours" so they hafta be awesome.....
I'd stick with reputable known mfr's and pay a few hundred more, but get quality.
Kooks
LG's
TPIS
Are all very good mfr's and with a good tune, you'll pick up ~30+ rwhp.

I have the same questions as you and am in the market for headers.I also am a tampa local with a 98.Let me know what you decide as I would like to see your setup and ease of install. Those ebay headers look nice and are cheap but are they quality and what x-pipe will i need.Shoot me a message and maybe I can call and talk to you.later.
i looked at the Kooks on Corvette Garage, and it seems you have to select off road, or with cats. No matter what they add at least $400 to the price off road, and $600 if you want cats. Wow.
I think im going to go with the Street Header system from LG. You cant beat the price, and they make just as much as the Pro's from what ive seen and heard. The whole system costs $995 complete or just headers for $695.

I see a lot of statements concerning the power that shorties vs long tubes make. Does anyone have dyno documentation before and after of these gains or are we all just supposed to believe what we read? I have spoken to several race shops concerning this issue and with a stock engine there is little difference. As engine compression and large amounts of fuel are increased as in engines with over 600 hp, yes long tubes will outperform the shorties by a long shot. However if your engine is stock with some tuning and bolt ons (with the exeption of supercharging) shorties are a good value. If they were so bad there would be no market for them.
Only buy stainless steel products. And the install time for the long tubes ( in a prepared shop ) is about 4.5 hours. You will also need thermal boots for the spark plug wires or they will suffer greatly. I used MSD wires with the thermal boots. In my case I saw a great performance difference in the long tubes. But as my profile shows, I have considerable performance products to contend with.
