Default Track Issues

I finally took my z06 out to the track after heads, cam, output shafts, tranny brace, headers, cai, and nitrous. I ran 3 1/8 mile passes with no nitrous on street et's.The first time they waved me through the burnout box because they thought I had street tires on since I have matching rims. So with a tiny burnout on cold tires the car got sloppy and I had to let out of it half track. The second pass I got a little better burnout but not a good one and same thing happened. Third pass did a John Force burnout and the launch and run was perfect till right at third gear and the car got really sloppy real fast so I pushed in the clutch and coasted the rest of the track. The first 2 runs I chalked up to cold slicks but the third run that wasnt a issue. The next car after me got sloppy in the exact same place and they ended up hitting the guard rail. So I dont know if it was my car or something on thr track. Im running normal tires in the front and street ets in the back at 12psi. My car is lowered with bolts and cut bushings. Anyone else run into this problem?

ET street radials or bias ply? I have run both, and IMO, the radials are very good. I just swithced to the bias ply and it is taking more passes then I would like to get used to it.

I am in the same boat, as my car did well with LTs and CAI (et street radilas) with 11.82 @ 117 (01 Z). Then with clutch, small blower cam 11.50 @ 120. Now with bigger cam, heads, gears (hot temps down here now ) I am still running 11. 4-11.5.

If you are running bias ply out back and radials up front, that would make it realy loose and vague up top. The 2-3 shift can be causing it too or even worsening it. That is low presure for radails if that is what you have and that could cause the issue too IMO. Where do you run?

I made 2 passes @ Carolina Thursday, and it hooks much better then Fayetteville. Good luck brother!

I never made a full pass. I let out everytime after shifting to 3rd. I talked to a few buddies who have ran these exact size tires and they said I need to run a few more psi.

You need skinnies up front or change your rear tires.

Im going to run again on Friday at a differnt track with 14psi in the tires and see what happens. I really dont want to buy skinnies because I cant run at the track very long without a cage anyway.
