Would like to hear of some of our forum members timeslips....one certain member "WITHOUT SPRAY", claims with a 3.90 gear, all the bolt ons, drag pack etc....135 mph at 10.15...which I am very impressed with. Is anybody else close?? I consider this the ultimate set up...

That sounds like Brent EB's car.
Yes, it is correct.
Both he and that car are all that.
There maybe 2-3 others that are close with similar setups.
My friend John Lawson's got a 2000 C5 with a Cartek 427 N/A and the factory auto. Without many other mods, last time we talked he drove the car to the track, left it in Drive, ran 10.30s, and drove it home. He still gets over 20mpg on the highway too!
Hey Vince, I just did a 427 LS7 and since I'm in your backyard I figure I should let you know how it does. We just got it running, numbers next week...Here's a thread on it: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...72#post5385672

Hey I read a little on your engine. Looks great! Similiar to what I'm doing right now, although we're at 447CI, but less CR, smaller cam, LS7 intake, etc. We're right about at 560RWHP w/ the LS7s which isn't much of an increase over my last year setup with LS6 heads.. but the car drives better, and is more streetable. We're losing over 20HP right on the intake as we have a vacuum problem so I could end up doing that next year or something when better/cost-effective solutions are available, but for now I was happy to sacrifice the power for how smooth it is.
W/ 3.73s and the A4 I should still be able to run 9s this fall w/ the drag pack, I imagine you should do the same.
thanks for the reply sled...but I am very happy with my motor...and will hopefully not have to open it up for 5-6 years....I may do a cam, gear and fast intake next year though...but I am very content with it right now...just dynoed 450 rwhp and 470 tq recently with cats...good enough for me.....

Ya no kidding, 450rwhp is plenty! I'm sorry, I thought you we're looking to do a 427 b/c of the original post... Why a cam, think there's some ponies in there still
Why the intake leak, is it at the ports? We are hoping for good numbers, but I think the intakes are restricting the 427+ cube motors
It's not a leak, there's just not enough available air with the intake. It's just a vararam with a larger bridge, TB, and LS7 intake. Between the big built 447, true dual 3" exhaust, etc, when tuning it was showing a 4% power loss (or approx 24HP at the rate we're at) due to the vacuum.
So, under high speed conditions the vacuum will be less producing more power than on the dyno, but to ultimately fix the problem I would need a harrop intake or something able to flow that well. I'm just not willing to dump the money into a harrop, or go sheetmetal as I am fully street legal and play in street war nights.

Ok I gotcha. How much vacuum are you drawing in at WOT and top rpm? What is top rpm for that motor
Well, Julio said on the dyno we saw a 4% vacuum, so I'm assuming that was at WOT. I don't have the new dyno sheet yet, but last year we pulled to 7K. I'm not sure if this changed or not.
