Look at my post for my 1997 C5 M6, I put down very close numbers with my vararam to a friend with a blackwing...however you'll never see true "ram air" at a dyno. Supposedly down the track or on the street is where you'll start to "feel" the ram air above ~70mph. Racing from a roll side by side we're pretty much dead even until ~100mph (on a track of course).

I went with halltech stinger. New air bridge and bigger filter for 300 bucks with free shipping from southern car parts. I could def feel a differnce in throlle response.

Great products, all above I am on my 2nd Vararam... went to a Haltech TRIC (through the cowl and out under the chin) to see if I could squeek out any extra MPh or ET. Car ran the exact same, maybe a little slower on top. So, I went back to a vararam and sure enough, the car is running the same on top. BLUFF, any Haltech is great and works well, and has a great quality to it. The Vararam works as well, has an apearance which may not seem as high a quality by some, but does work pretty well. Great first mod too
Dave
PS anyone want a Haltech TRIC???

I just took off my VaraRam cause I wasn't happy with the fit/finish and replaced it with a Callaway Honker. Not only is the Honker a far superior product when it comes to fit/finish but I have noticed better throttle response, smoother throughout all RPM's, and more power (or maybe it's a combination of the previous two that makes me think I have more power). Realistically though you have to try them out and see what you think for yourself, the VaraRam vs. Honker battle is bitter and never ending...

I have a Honker system from Callaway. They are also bottom feeders just as the VaraRam but it added some great power. But just my .02 cents

Ok laugh if you want, but I bought a velocity stack, and put it in. I already had a bunch of mods, but this was the last thing put on before I returned to the dyno for some re-tuning.

After they were done, I mentioned the velocity stack, and they all kind of laughed and I also admitted I just can't help myself when it comes to mods

Anyway, since the car was on the dyno we all said lets see if it does anything. So we took it out, did another run 3 hp less. We thought OK the car was hotter, actually no it was cooler, because it had been sitting while we talked. So we all thought no way,and put it back in. Then we did another run with the car a little hotter than before, and it was 3 hp higher.

We all just said has to be just a variance in the dyno. Either way, without it in a cool car, less HP. With it in a hotter car, more HP. Time between runs was the time to uninstall and reinstall the thing.

Who knows what that means, but we were all a little surprised.

Opps I missed the point of the thread (do over). I can't speak to any peformance diferences. I went with Vararam because it was what my tuner used, and it made sense design wise to me. I can say that 60-100 was noticeably better after the install of the Vararam.

They are all good products, I did not install mine so alot of what people complain about with the vararam was not an issue to me. I know mine is installed correctly, and I will point out again it was dyno tuned with it on the car. So although I say it was noticeably better from 60-100, it was in combination with other things.
