Default Experience with MTi cams????

so i am looking into cams and so far i am liking the MS3 cam and G5X3 cams but would like to make a little more power than they are making. i have also been looking at MTi cams especially the X1, R1, and Y1. i am looking for the most usable power for a cam only LS1 with an LS6 intake. i want to make more than 400rwhp with the usual bolt ons. i want the cam to make power from 3k rpm and up and be streetable. any input is greatly appreciated. oh yeah its a 6 speed

Go head and get heads, the extra cost is worth it to me.

MTI has good setups that hve been proven to make good power for years, imo they are a good shop.

FWIW, my new H/C setup makes more than 450rwhp. with the G5X-3.

Good Luck!

Mine's not cammed yet, but Astig00 on here just made 437/416 on a G5X3, Varraram, LG Pros, no cats, straight exhaust. Very rough idle, sounds like a friggin top fuel dragster . The car pulls very hard up top.

G1 here, too tame.. 380/360 with intake, LS6 manifold, U/D pulley, L/T headers, high flow cats and tune. If I could do it again I'd go bigger.

Default Mti R1

420 RWHP 358 RWTQ.

It drives well in traffic, and I got 31.5 mpg coming home from Carlise.

its imperative to purchase a set of nice flowing heads with an a4, to hit the 400 mark or over.I have a basically the same setup u do with patriot stg 2 heads & 233/239 600/605 on a 112 The heads are definatly worth 30 rwhp if not more depending on which ones u buy Texas speed makes some nice high lift cams that will get u the rwhp your looking along with a set of heads & u dont have to flycut your pistons
