A friend of mine with a supercharged C6 making 520rwhp wanted to run my Turbo Integra 4 door just to see how he would do. The race never materialized because while doing a burn out, I toasted my clutch. So after the tow truck was called, we decided to have him race a C6 with headers making somewhere in the 400+rwhp range.
My friend wanted me to drive his car because he had never been to the roll ons before and had no idea how things worked. After agreeing to a 60 mph start speed, I called my tuner really quick to ask if I could brake boost a supercharged car...... He said no.....so I didn't. The rpms dropped down to 1500 and the C6 pulled about 5-6 cars on us from the jump.
By the time I got in the powerband and started running him down..... the race was over. We went to give the tow truck drivers directions to my house and sent them on thier way. On the way back to our hang out spot, I told him to break boost the car for me just to see what happens. He had no idea how to do this, so I told him to step on the break....slow down to 50mph and give it gas back up to 60mph while still pressing the breaks.
The rpm jumped to 3500 and when he let off the breaks and nailed the throttle that car shot like a rocket right in the powerband. The C6 wouldn't race again but a 300zx that is a virtual tie with the C6 said that he would race. I drove again....... break boosted and beat him by about 15 cars. Needless to say, break boosting works. I think he may even give my Integra a run for its money. We'll see if I can get 500 miles on a new clutch by next sunday.
Sorry about the novel fellas....I like for people to know all the details.....LOL

how would brake boosting work with a supercharged car? turbos make boost from load which is why you brake boost to put more load on the car. superchargers make power from rpm which is why you downshift.
oh IB4TL
Its 4 speed auto, and not my car so I didn't want to just put the car in a lower gear. I called my tuner to tell him the results....he said it wasn't break boosting.....he didn't have time to explain to me what happened....but he said something about flashing the converter by doing what I did.
He said he'll explain it to me later when he's off the dyno. I'll let you guys know what he says!!!
LOL Is that a big deal? I"m new to forum posting and I always see comments like that........ I'm in on the first page......... Is that a good thing? BTW why would it get locked?....I was talking about hypothetical situations. LOL Not actual racing.
