I just ported my stock Throttle body, took it out for a test drive and yea, it is better. There has been some argument on whether this type of mod helps or not, but I am here to say that yes, it does help. It's not a huge difference, but it is noticeable. It makes sense too that it would help, just straightening out the air flow, which I did when I ported it, has got to make the air flow easier.
While I had the Throttle body off I looked inside the LS1 intake and saw oil on the floor, so my next mod will be a catch can.
ALSO
My car has always been "darty" while driving on roads with ruts in them from snow tires wearing 2 grooves in the lane.
So I've been reading that I need to 'toe-in" my front wheels. Now I don't have any alignment tools and I have no idea where I could take it, so I decided to just make an adjustment myself.
I adjusted both tie rods 1/4 turn each and this made a big improvement.
Much less darting.
I had my stock T/B ported and yes there is a definite difference!! I added a K&N FIPK Gen 2 air intake and a Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust and I am very happy with the increase in performance
