Should I Re-Tune

I have a 2001 C5 coupe, no mods strictly stock. Should I take to local Corvette shop who says he can re-tune and reprogram computer and get HP increase of about 15-20 HP.. I have read many threads that after market programmers dont really work, is it feasable that this reprogram can increase HP ?

Any other suggestions for HP improvements ?

Thanks

Go in the scan and tune section. Charlie has a special on tunning pcms for only 100.00. Also , you will notice more power just by modifiying your restictive intake or replacing it .

Default goals

My long term goals are to maintain the car as a weekend driver but want to have that extra HP to win any racers I might face without modifying to much. I dont want to get into new cam rods and pistons (yet anyway) I hope this answers your question

Thats what I thought. 6 months later I did the mods in my sig. I was just gonna say that if you plan to do some work in the future it might be more cost effective to wait til after you mod to tune the car. But if your not gonna mod teh car in the near future go ahead with the tune. Either way have fun.

I wasn't going to do anything to my car except a vararam and borla stingers. Was happy with that the first year. Than a friend sold me his barely used heads, cam, and fast intake and now my car makes 450 hp on a dyno jet dyno. I keep telling myself that this is fine and I will stop but I keep looking at superchargers now. Does anyone know if there is a modaholics anonymous
