I know if traction is on, it will kill power under spinning load. But, if you have comp driving mode on, will it still kill a little power compaired to traction being turned completly off?
no, competitive driving mode only turns off traction control but leaves on active stability and is less intrusive during the competitive mode operation.
It will not kill the power if you are spinning the tires and going straight. It will only intervene when it senses the car is not headed in the direction the front wheels are pointed i.e. you’re starting to go into a yaw event.

yeah...i knew what it was for, just didnt know if i reduced a bit of power while you were going straight. My buddys car can turn the TC off completly, but will still intervien...damn computers. its a 300C SRT8
In C5Zs I made my passes in Competitive Driving mode. It had zero impact on acceleration. Note the times in my sig.
AH intervened twice in 500 passes, both times to help me stay off the wall when I hit tranny fluid on the track and the rear got very loose. I was grateful for the electronic intervention.
(RE the SRT8) That sucks. No such problem in the Vette. In comp mode as long as you’re going straight you get full power and can smoke the tires until they pop.

When I road race sometimes I see active handleing on my display, is it slowing me down a little? I have also seen it when I "practice" locally. I know for drag racing its great to keep the car from getting squirrley, but should we turn it completley off when roadracing?
