Hi there!
Amercian raing Long tube headers 1-7/8" primaries.
If you have any doubt, just ask A&A, ECS, England Green or the Vette doctors why you should go with these

people always want to know whats the best header. there is no way to really prove which brand is best. for a big cube motor you will want 1 7/8 primaries. lsx motors love exhaust and you cant put to much on them. if you buy one of the top brands you will be happy. kooks and arh make 1 7/8. i dont think lg does but i could be wrong so verify to make sure. some top brands being arh, lg, kooks.

i personally have kooks and have been happy. if someone says x brand is better that is their opinion

You are right, differences are minimal. However some headers have a different positioning forthe X pipe and longer or shorter headers. There is a reason to that which I unfortunatly can't explain as I lack knowledge
However after calling A&A, who explained me that when they're using ARH they get better results than with other brands (although minimal), I decided to go with ARH. I can't tune my car myself so I relied on the brand with which my tuner gets the best results

sounds like in your situation you made the right choice. but that does not mean its the right choice for everyone

Thats exactly what I meant. The best thing to do is to go with what your tuner recommends and what he feels more comfortable with
That's of course true for 3 main companies IMO: Kooks, ARH, LG

Default thanks for the input guys!

still havent selected my header, but have narrowed this down to American Racing or LG...

Really need some exh flow..using L92 heads..

LG Claims to out perform the AR...So right now it looks like LG!

1 7/8? I wanted to keep the TQ Up on account of the low dyno..471 RWTQ, SO I am thinking 1 3/4 LG PROS..

LG claims have been discussed on the forum previously. There is a doubt about there accuracy. I mean ECS, A&A, the vette doctors and EG as well as Steve (tune in CT) ave gotten better results with ARH.
BTW The Vette docs are building the fastest Vettes in the country. I am sure the LGs are good. Maybe close or the same but not better. Again, I have nothing against LG, but I judge from what several respectable tuners told me and from the dyno charts I have seen.

Plus, another asset of the ARH is that they came out last. They are a new system built by a few ex Kooks guys. Like in any business, you learn from others mistakes. So generaly, a newer product is more cost effective and performs better (i.e ease of installation, better flow...)

PS I don't work for ARH I am just a happy customer who gained a lot of power with these headers

I recommend KOOKS custom headers , I ran them on my Cartek 441cid stroker that set the record for the first 9-second all motor C5 back in 2004 , their product is top quality and makes the most power , my track results back that up .

Seriously, if I were you I'd go with Andy @ A&A Corvette! This guy really rocks, he has always treated me like family. He stands 100% behind his products. He is a sponsor, look on the side of the screen.
As for the tuning, I would go with Charlie at RPM motors. He is running a special on mail order tunes, $150§ You can't that price especially when you know this guy's experience!

Good luck and let us know your decision.

As for the primaries, it depends on you final goals. You need to discuss that directly with Andy. You need to know your long term goals are with the car. Do you intend to supercharge? Install a strocker? Or both? Or a Head and cam package?

BTW Andy's number:
A&A Corvette Performance
477-A LAMBERT STREET
OXNARD, CA 93036
805-278-4107 or 888-VETTEPRO
