I'm curious if anyone is getting good 60' time with Nittos and A/T?
If so, what are they and what pressure are you running?
Thanks!
I cut a 1.68 on my nitto street tires(555r2).
The trick with nittos is that they need alot of heat, so you must do a full burnout.
The nitto 555r is probably the hardest of the drag radials which makes them the best street tire but often the toughest dr to launch on.
You can run them as low as 14psi with no control issues.
With a clutch/strong burnout/and good technique they are good for some 1.5x's.
I would start with about 16psi and melt them in the box.
Your rwhp and whether your stick vs. auto will factor in here too.
I'll need to take a look and see if I have the R2. To tell you the truth, I didn't know there was a different version.

I ran Nitto DR's on my C4 Grandsport, constant 1.6x 60' times...... robz is 100% right, they need alot of heat, mine were 315's and I usually ran anywhere from 17-20 psi depending on conditions and like he said no control issues up at the top end.
i do a 1st gear burn out for 5-6 secs @ 6000 rpm to heat my nitto drags. it usually hooks up and pulls 1.65 60's. if the track isnt that good they wont hook on my car.
I'm still on brutha Will be at 2 upcoming rentals at Atco.
I've been looking for CCW's for a while. Buying the fronts from big Mike next week, so that's a start.
See you there maybe?

i agree that they arent the best traction wise. they are however the best street tire of the drag radial bunch.
They are one of the best mods I made for my STREET vette. The last couple of mods I made (heads, FAST) made my car SLOWER in 0-60mph (I said street) because the 295 KUMHOs just melted at lauch. Now I can run 3.1x 0-60mph, and 2.xx's with a quick spray at the very end, and the mountain twisties are a BALL
