Well I finally did it. I went to Carolina Dragway today and made five passes, all of which were between 9.97 and 9.94. I also got a new best mph of 136.90 on the 9.94 pass. It felt awesome! For those who don't know, my car is a 427 N/A weekly driven A4 C5 coupe. To my knowledge, this is the quickest N/A A4 C5 that is a legitimate street/strip car and not race-only.
Congrats Dan , that beats my 9.95 ET from back in 2004 , still got you on MPH though not sure if it's the overall quickest , one of the Georgia(MTI) cars went 9.92 I think , either way , 9's NA is a great accomplishment .

Thanks Mike. I thought that you were a little faster but I wasn't sure by how much. I talked to Paul Smith that represents MTI and I'm sure he will chime in. I think that the black car went 9.93 and the red one went 9.96, but those are full race cars without headlights, air bags, A/C, etc.
Danny
My red MTI car has gone 9.96 and the black car has run a 9.93. Both have parts missing (lightened) to the tune of about 100 lbs off each car. The black car is a 99FRC making it even lighter. Congratulations on your four straight 9.4 tp 9.7 runs and the MPH of 136.90! Your short time of 1.34 also bests our 1.36 best. Looks like we've got some catching up to do! Looking forward to seeing the video.

WOW, That is impressive times and MPH. What are your mods besides the 427? Is it a C5R block or LS7 block? What gears are you running?
wow this was a great week for 9 second cars. Congrats on the nine second milestone.
I'm curious, how much power does the car make, what type of suspension are you running and what was the breakdown of the run... If you don't mind revealing those details of course.
HP Addict (Chris) - No 8s for me. I will NOT put a cage in my car in order to run any quicker. I will enjoy where I am for now.
Brandon619 - I am running a re-sleeved LS2 block, with Eagle crank and rods. Hydraulic camshaft, ETP LS7 heads, GM (unported) LS7 intake, GM TB, Yank TC, DTE rear with 3.73s, and CCW drag pack with Hoosier tires.
Alwaysinboost - The suspension is stock except for the QA1 shocks. Here are the numbers from the run: 1.347 - 60', 6.315@107.56 in the 1/8, and 9.946@136.90 in the 1/4. I would show a picture of the time slip but I don't know how to post it. I have a friend who is working on posting a video later in the week. Stay tuned. Danny.

Very impressive, that short time has got to be some kind of record I would think. what is the driveline & motor setup if you don't mind me asking.
If you don't want to publicly say just send me a PM. the reason I'm so nosey is because I just went 9's myself the other day and I want something to compare too.

I've included the engine and driveline particulars in the above post. I don't know what else I can tell you.
