Transmission question **help please**
i was coming home today and when i came to a stop and i decided to praction a launch. i went at it all 1st ,2nd and when i put in third i felt a very light grind but didnt hear anything. now when ever i put in 3rd it grinds. when i put it in it goes in super easy(easier than the rest) but grinds. this is my second tranny. the other one 2nd got messed up but the gear was very hard to put in totaly difrent. do u guys think its the syncro to third that got messed up or is it the fork??? also does a regular c5 tranny fit on my 01 z06 thanx in advance

You can interchange the 2 transmissions although the ratio's are different except for 4th gear which is 1 to 1 in both. I would first change the fluid in the trans and see if there are any traces of metal indicating that there "was" damage done. It could be a variety of things, but sound most likely to be a syncro.
