Default Cartek 3x cam?

Looking to put the cam in this coming month into my 99 frc. mods are mn12, ls7 clutch, bb bullets, intake. besides the cam what else do I need? ls2 timing chain, springs ect.. what can I expect to put down on a dyno jet or at the track with mt dr. hoping for high 11`s and 375rwhp. suggestion on headers?

I'm gonna say between 280rwhp-500rwhp pending cam specs. I think Pickolbag has one in his car and he's around 420rwhp with their heads.

Fartsmeller believes I have the 3x but I in fact have the 2x. I am not sure on the specs, nor do I know anybody that has a 3x cam only on an ls1 so I dont want to mislead you. I'd PM Julian@Cartek. He will surely be able to give you an accurate response. I see no reason why a cam only FRC won't go high 11s. What kind of air do you get out there?

im under my bros account but the air is not too bad. I've ran a best of 12.7 at 110 with a ****ty 2.1 shorty. my bro ran a 11.8 I believe on the same mods with a 02 z06. I will eventually get the full package but im 19 and still ower 9k on the car so I can only mod by paycheck. im hoping the mn12 will help so I can keep stock gears for now. what size headers should I run? and what other small things do I need to do when I put the cam in like springs, timing chain ect... we will be doing the install and my friend owns prostreet in hawaii so this will be his first ls1 to tune since its practicly a import shop. he owns a 9 sec honda and has built street legal 750+whp hondas.. haha I know useless but what ever floats your boat.

i am also going to install a 2X or 3X cam probably the 2X, in a few months i am also hoping for high 11's, i have a 99 FRC with lg street series lt's,no cats, ti catback, vortex intake, ported tb and ran a 12.5xxx with a 1.98 60' @ 113.7 mph. so with the u/d pulley, ls6 intake and the cam especially a better 60' 11's should def be achievable. also i love my lg's they made 325ftlbs @ 2400 rpm but i think they are hurting me on top end a little so if you are just drag racing i would probably buy a set of kooks 1 3/4 lt's a little shorter primaries and make good top end power i think thats what most of the cartek cars run anyway and they run incredible track times.
this is the basic list i got from cartek
- Cartek Stage 2X cam
- Double Roller Timing Chain
- Cromoly push rods
- Cometic head gaskets
- ASP under drive pulley with belts
- 160 degree thermostat
- Intake porting to Stage 2X
- Miss bolts, gaskets, seals, coolant, oil, filter, plugs, ect.
- Full dyno tuning

price list on those parts? don't want to spend over 1500 without dyno tune. keep me posted on what you do! any other cartek info I can research? I'm on a phone so can't use the search.

Your goals are completely achievable with our 3X and even 2X with bolt-ons. The only variable is who will be tuning your car in Hawaii?

great. when I'm done modding I want to be at around 475rwhp with all supporting mods. how about a vacation to hawaii? haha but I don't have much options.. we had a lsx tuner but he moved. so my option is a import shop that has a dyno jet. do you guys do mail order tunes?

When I was still stock cubed with LS1 heads, they put the 3X in my car with all bolt-ons except stock manifold/TB I made 413 rwh and 387 rwt.
With my average driving skills I managed low 12's running on a crappy set of DR's.

Cartek has probably tuned so many of the 2x-3x packages, that their mail order tune will ge you about as close as you can get!

ive ran a best of 12.7 stock with bald tires and a mn12.. if i manage a 11.9 ill be happy. they have answered all my questions and ill be the first cartek vette in hawaii so far. looking forward to do more business in the future. what can i expect on power levels with the full h/c setup? with full bolt ons and exhaust? trying to make 475rwhp all motor on a dyno jet. the car will be on the dyno once i get the cam to check the a/f then to raise hell on the street/strip.

With their H/C set up with all the bolt-ons you should see anything from 460-500 rwh. If you can cut 1.4-1.5 60' times, you should have a 10 second car in good air with a well prepped track.

as long as i know the car is capable of a 10 second pass ill be happy and stop modding until i get a 10 second slip. im basicly trying to copy murrilos setup but in the parts i want to buy.
