I am thinking of using my BFG drag radials full time.
If so about how many miles do you guys think I might get?
I do have another car to use in the rain.
Dang, I've heard of people getting at least 5,000 out of MT's drag radial. And they hook better. I drive my Camaro on the MT's, do NOT drive them in the rain.
i love my nittos 555r drag radials i even used them this winter in columbus, drove home from the track in rain a few times while my buddies with the bfgs had to stop on the side of the road, and you can leave them on all the time, and they have lasted a year racing and driving all over the country, but everybody has an opinion, thats just mine, of course leave traction on in the rain and be smart

Did you notice the tires throwing more stones into your fenders?
I hear a lot of people say they pick up everything on the road.
Just curious as I'm in the market to pick some up.
well not driving around town they dont, but at the track, yea they do pick up everything, but after my burnouts they are real sticky so i expected that but my home track has a lot of gravel it does that to everybody most just wipe of the rocks etc with gloves, and i will also say there will be alot of rubber the accumulates behind the tire but i race alot, most of the the people i race with have the bfg drag radials all of our 60 fts are real similar, any other q s just ask, i think the bfs may be a little better at the track but i know they wouldnt get ya through the smoky mountains in the rain, so do you live close to rt 66? that is the best track, i would say if you will never be driving in the rain go bfg, but if it will see alot of everday duty the nittos are great

Cool, thanks for the info, I like the 555R's or the 555RII, I would get them mostly for the street, my car is not a daily driver, never in rain or snow.

I'm about 2 hrs from route 66.
have you raced there? Great track, yea i have the regular 555s up front, i had bfg kdws when i got the car, i dont know how many miles were on them but my a4 auto had traction issues after my intake tune and exhaust after the nittos i can turn the traction off , those other 555 that are for road racing may be even better for you if you dont plan on drag racing

Never raced there, in fact never raced it anywhere, but I've only had the car for 1 yr now. I'm on stock run flats now, and traction is a bit of a problem to say the least

whatever tires you get should be happy, i am not a fan of the gy run flats and regular tires will save a little unsprung weight, thats why the new zr1 has switched to michelin, i believe they make a better tire too
Obviously the tire compound is soft...... the problem is the sidewalls. Very very flexy and people have incurred blowouts rather easily because of how soft the sidewall is.
On the drag strip, obviously not a problem. Running over potholes, bumps, whatnot on the street is much different matter.
No way in hell you are getting 14K miles out of a BFG daily driving it EVERYDAY. I got maybe 5K out of mine daily driving until they were almost smooth.
