Default Torque Converter question.

How do you guys think the Vigilante 3600 would perform (track and daily driving) in my full weight 2002 Coupe? I'm doing the entire cam/head/convertor swap at the same time so no #s right now. Cam is similar to MS3/heads are prc stage 2.5 LS6.

I have 2000 coupe with heads/cam-headers and the Yank SS3600 -it is great and is a great daily driver as well -if you go smaller on the converter then he converter becomes a kink in the "straw" of performance instead being a facilitator of performance.

Dumb question...

With a TC, does the motor rev up to the TC limit under normal driving.

So if I'm on the road at a stop and step on the gas, will it rev up to 3600 rpm?

What about WOT situations?

Thanks,
al

No, at normal speeds and acceleration around town it responds normally. You will notice (only at first) a little "slop" 2-300 rpms on acceleration around town but I do not notice it at all now - my wife never did and she drove it as soon as the tq was installed!! This is not a concern. However if you go hard on it, it will flash to torque at 3600 rpms - it will really jump with acceleration. WOT will flash it max torque or torque at 3600 rpms. As I said, 1/2 second off quarter mile time. It multiplies the power into the power band.
Also, to calm you about daily driving: At idle if I let my foot off the brake it will creep just as a purely stock car will.It is easily the mod I am most satisfied with.

I can't tell the difference with the Yank 3200. No slip at all. Runs just like a factory converter until you step on it, then it shifts from 3200. I don't know about the 3600, but the 3200 has no downside.
