Default can't wait! LT + catless X *install almost finished*

Went with TSP Texas speed 1 3/4".
Came with everything except new gaskets. Thats ok though they are cheap and maybe they figured I wouldn't need them?
They DID come with a new oil dipstick and some o2 harness extentions

Can't wait to put these bad boys on!

Had the same headers and catless x-pipe put on my 02 Z06. Sounds great and can definity feel the difference at WOT!

Sorry for the newb question... and yes I probably could have searched. But how does this setup compare with a Kooks or SLP setup power and fitament wise as well as cost.

I bet its going to sound real nice with this setup and should be a real kick in the pants too!!!

I thought you were gonna have these on the car last weekend. Whats the hold up???

You gonna test your car out as Island after you get them on?

Power wise I'm sure they are within 3% of slp or kooks. Cost they are like... much cheaper. Fitment I don't know yet but I will post after I get them on. Quality I'm sure won't be an issue either. The welds look nice and even and the coating looks good and shiny!

Just checked the Texas Speed site right after posting (would have been wise to do before hand).. yeah that would seem to be a GREAT price on a header and X-Pipe setup compared to SLP and Kooks. I'd love to hear how the install and fitament goes as well as the gains ou experience after a tune, this may be the exact route I take as well!!!

This may be a ridiculous question, but do you plan to perform the install yourself or have it done? Looking forward to hearing your results!!!

I actually was able to hook up a little better on friday with my slicks. Pulled a few 1.60 60's. The street tire guys seemed to be having trouble off the line though. If you ever go on a Friday we can throw my drag pack on your car and see how it does. The tires are close to shot but should still help you out a bit.

Going to be installing in the garage with ramps/jackstands a few buddys and a case or so of beer.

I will be tuning myself with HP Tuners pro. Won't have that for another few weeks though so I will be running it without a tune for a little bit

Going to try the spark plug non-fowler trick over the rear o2 sensors and hope I don't trip a cel.

Hey Nick I might take you up on your offer to use your drags.

Default Update

Update-

Ok we got the headers in.
Went fairly smooth. Fitment needs a little tweaking. The driver side air tubes match 100% the Pass side we had to use rubber hose as they did not line up properly No big deal though! So we had to call it quits last night with only 15 minutes of work left Picked up a piece of hose today and for some reason the stock bolts that will hold the X to the axle back do not fit And they didn't come with any so we had to add that to the easter egg hunt along with the hose for the pass air tube.
Fitment looks decent so far. But everything is not bolted up yet so we are keeping our fingers crossed
Few minor details to be worked out which we are about to tackle. I took a few pics along the way I will post those up later along with final thoughts/comments.

Need that HP tuners first! Going to order that either Mon or Tuesday
I read a few threads on guys that had driveability problems after installing their headers. Like it bogging in low RPM or bucking? I'm glad to say that I haven't had any problems. Is a hair louder at idle. Noticeably louder when cruising. Doesn't have any noticeable drone but it is a little louder. Put your foot in it and all hell breaks loose.. The tires too!!!

Seems to drive and idle just as smooth as it did stock.
Can't wait to start messing with the Hp tuners

Never heard about problems after headers. I just thought you had to tune it to get the most HP for the mods, I never heard that you had to tune it just to get it to run smooth. But hey, I'm no mechanic and I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn in years.

You should post a vid of the way it sounds. Congrats on the install.

I'll throw a vid up tonite.

I think the reason some people have problems is they connect the front O2 sensors up wrong or something? Causing the engine to stumble a bit.
