Default Need for Speed under 11.5 - Help!

I posted something similar under "drag racings" and had a few replies with several being very helpful. After reading the posts here I thought this might be the place to get some answers.

Here are my questions and set-up:

Originally my goal when modding the car was to have the car run in the 11's. I have accomplished that and have been running in the 11.7's and have now got the itch to run in the lower 11's so that I could possibly run in the 11.5 index at some point.

Currently I have:

04 coupe tuned with 233/239 cam, underpulley, headers w/cats, corsa's, 3600 T/C and 3:73 gears running ET streets radials on wagon wheels and small 205's up front.

It's obvious I need heads, intake, T/B, injectors or a combination of them, but my question is what is the best bang for the buck to reach my goal?

Best runs (65 temp): (85 temp)

R/T - .102 - .132
60' - 1.650 - 1.671
330' - 4.837 - 4.887
1/8 - 7.50 - 7.551
MPH - 92.00 - 91.53
1000 - 9.807 - 9.868
1/4 - 11.746 - 11.817
MPH - 116.56 - 115.92

Elevation at the track is 450'. The first run I posted was a corrected elevation of 975 and the second run was 1865.

I believe I'm also not stalling enough at the line. I'm only stalling to 1700 or so and with this converter I should be able to hold at least 2500 rpms. How much of a difference would that make in my 60's?

Thanks for any input.

Throw a set of budget TSP stg 2.5 5.3l heads on there and you will hit 11.3-11.5 easy, those are the heads I am getting in the next month.

with a higher stall converter like a 3200 vigilante your 60 foot's will go into the mid to low 1.50's (with the propert tire) every tenth you cut out of the hole is worth two tenths on the big end...

Default Need for speed, under 11.5...?

Note: At 11.499 there is (no) more racing until an approved roll-bar is installed. Just a heads up and your getting close.

I already have a Yank 3600 converter and I can't get past 1.60's on the 60'. I believe I have room with my launch. I'm only going at ~1700.

Try increasing the RPMs, but not sure it will help. I run DR's and have gotten as low as 1.66 and that was leaving around 1300rpm. You may need to go to a stickier tire.

I am a fan of the 11.5 index, but I would probably have to switch over to a rollbar for my vert to be competitive.

Leaving higher is not always better. Try several different RPMs from the line. Might find that lower RPM (1800?) will flash the converter harder and cut your 60 time.

Heads are going to be what gets you over the top, it needs to breath. Not sure that's the cheapest but it will do the most for you w/ that cam.
