Guys, I am running a '04 ls6 with a vortech s/c at 6.5psi, 9:1 CR as well as full exhaust and 19" rims front and 20" rims rear. If I drive the car correctly, what is a good estimate for 1/4 mile time? I am going to take the car out in a few weeks and I would like to have a good idea of what I should be expecting!
The lower compression with only 6.5 lbs of boost will hurt your power.
The wheels will add extra rotating weight and the low profile tires won't provide any grip!

If its your first time taking the car to the track just HAVE FUN!!!...and keep it out of the wall. Id try and get ahold of some street radials if u know anybody that would let u get a few runs on em. They'll really help with getting the power down. Bottom line, just have a good time and get a feel for getting the car through first and second. The times (you should eventually get down to the mid 11's if you can get it to hook up) will come with practice. Good Luck!
Thanks for the replies! In reference to "...only running 6.5psi" in a forged motor with and the vortech kit which already has larger injectors...I could safely run 10psi with a tune right? And at 10psi and a tune I should see around 700hp I would think, can my stock drivetrain handle 700hp..?? Thanks for the advice guys, I am only asking because I know there is ALOT of experience here!
Mid 11's have been had on street tires, albeit with NA power (less than you at 6psi)
I wouldn't even bother running with street tires unless you're just going to go down the track a few times a year.
If you're serious about running with any regularity be ready for:
1. Drag radials at the least, a good CCW drag package better
2. The need for a roll cage for sub 11.5 runs
3. clutches and rear ends
