Another to do or not to do thread!

OK...heres my situation....headers will be off anyways for my clutch/diff change....right now i have 1 3/4" LG Pro Longtubes with offroad 3" X 32" primaries 3" race merge collectors, siamese X
I have a chance to go to a 1 7/8 ARH LT's with 3" offroad X or Kooks 1 7/8 LT with 3" offroad X for little to nothing(trade mine plus a couple parts i got laying around and a tune)....would you do it?
If so how much power increase/tq decrease am I looking at....I figure with the spec twin disk clutch upgrade(lower MOI), 1 7/8 headers, and remove the MAF completely (my car is SD tuned) and replace with a Silicone smooth piece...no MAF Air Restriction....probably looking at 480 Rwhp....Should make it slightly easier for 10s.....heres my one day wishes....remove heads...mill more, thinner head gasket, diff/bigger cam, TEA do their upgraded TFS head port work...i think 500 RWHP would be attainable!
Headers wise...would you keep my LG pros or go with a 1 7/8 ARH w/3" Offroad X or Kooks 1 7/8 with 3" Offroad X?

Here is a post that I asked the same question to and the response I got from someone who has done just what you are asking. Needless to say I will be doing the 1 7/8's when the time comes.

You will run 11.0s with either one so who cares. Flip a coin.

IMO 1 3/4 headers are best for a 346na motor no matter how you cut it. Keeps the torque there for that little motor. Hell i'm thinking of staying with 1 3/4 headers on a 408 to keep the torque up and cam the thing up and keep things in perspective.

Doing that head work you will need the right cam spec'd and not be afraid to rev the heck out of the motor. I'm talking 7500ish to reap the full benefits but it will put you over the 500rwhp mark with the right cam. I would also send them your Fast to have it port matched.
I would change the headers as well if it was me and you had those plans in the future.

A few more cubes but a good comparison to show that most of the low end mumbo jumbo is a myth.

For a stock cube motor the 1 3/4" are plenty.

Screw the torque, if u can get ARH 1 7/8 without breaking pocket, man jump on that without second thought.

Ask them if they entertain SW HEaders with H flo cats and Corsa X-pipe plus cash.

For those that think you will lose 20-30rwtq like "some" market it just that marketing schemes.
