hey guys, i have a 99 vette with lg streets with cats, corsa pace car, and a hurricane intake. i want to install a cam that has a nice chop at idle and good hp numbers. i'm not sure what kind of cam i should buy and what supporting mods. i will need. i would appreciate your input.
Best advice I can give is if you plan on having it installed by a performance shop, talk to them since they will most likely be doing the custom tune as well. They should be able to make any cam wild to mild run well, or they probably wouldn't recommend it. My cam is pretty mild by todays standards, which is a comp grind 220/220 .581 112LSA. Very easy to live with on the street, great lopey sound and good power increase. Never had a baseline tune, but dynoed after install at 348RWHP/358RWTQ, with standard bolt on stuff ie; intake, exhaust, tune. This is also on a 99 (LS1 intake manifold) with 6 speed.

Here's my setup which produced 367RWHP and 365RWTQ, with a Z06 cam. I'm running a 2000 coupe.
Good luck with your project.
