acceleration problem

Sounds like you may have a couple things going on. The idle ports directly beneath your throttle blades may be uncovered too much. They should look like a little "square" about maybe .020"-.030" uncovered. Also sounds like you may have too much play in your accelerator pump arm...you should get fuel out of your squirters as soon as the throttle is moved. Also sounds like you may need bigger squirters, what is your current size?
Have you dialed in your mixture screws at idle to give your best vacuum reading? And a biggie...what is your intial timing?
What is the duration of your cam at .050"?

Thanks for the info. After doing some more research last night, I found several sites with folks complaining of just about the same thing I am experiencing. I forgot to mention that I put on a MSD ignition and distributor when I did all of the engine mods. I think I am getting immediate response when I give it gas, but there is a "bog" just about everytime I do so. Runs really rough at low rpms, but if I feather it, and run up the rpm it seems to do OK. Also, when running about 2600 rpm at about 32 mph, it will lurch or miss every 30 secs or so. If I had to guess, you are right, there are multiple issues, and I think I just need to dial in everything correctly. Anybody know of any engine gurus in the KC area?
