OK - Maybe y'all don't need one but I do. Things start happening pretty quick when you drop the hammer - specially in the first couple of gears and I find myself not paying attention to the tach like I should. There's a lot of Z's out there with more HP than mine but I'm pushing the limit on non forged innards and a stock aspirated LS6. I did a forum search b4 I did this post but found nothing telling me I might be somewhat retarded?? Is there anyone out there that frequently goes past the red line or someone who has done a sano install of a shift light? I'd sure like some info on brands that work and sano install locations in a '02 Z06.
Many Thanks in advance from an over the hill hot rodder
I used to run the Raptor shift light on my old Trans Am. Whenever I get around to it I plan on installing it in my Corvette. I'm going to mount mine on the a-pillar up high.
Yeah - I thought the A-pillar up high might be the most noticeable. The Zs are pretty well guaged out as you know - I'm not planning to run boost or anything else and most A-pillar replacements for guages have a 3 guage setup. Anyone know of a source offering a 1 guage pod?

You won't need a guage pod for the raptor, just attach it to your stock a-pillar. It's a very small diameter so it would look silly in a gauge pod.
I have the small Auto Meter shift light mounted on the A pillar. It is attached just a little lower than the fuel pressure gauge pod and is pointed right at my eye level.
So i have a raptor shift light now. its mounted to the piece of trim right above the rear view mirror, but it still isnt bright enough for me, Will the Auto meter shift light install (wiring) just like my raptor light?
thanks

I need a light that will get my attention. I was looking at the Auto Meter light - looks like they offer both the smaller LED version like the Raptor or the larger light that would fit in an A pillar pod. I'm going to check it out. AND - what about the wiring connections - I've never been one that likes to splice in to stock wiring harnesses - sometimes a recipe for disaster. I converted my Bose sound system to JL complete with amps and mp3 player, kept the stock HU and never cut or spliced a factory wire. Again - any info from someone whose been there - done that will be appreciated. Many thanks!!!
