Default New Numbers

I had the car down at VA Speed. Great shop!

Swapped out to a 4 inch down tube and a 100mm MAF.

403 L92 heads. Drives absolutely like stock! WHOOPIE! More HP and TQ under 2500RPM. It was nuts before.

Wow!!!!! Congrats! I wish my car was more driveable and pick up another 10rwhp and I'd be more happy with it. Well a cam that peaked closer to 6500rpm then 6050rpm.

It feels more like a FI motor than an NA. A tap on the gas from 1500+ in 1-2-3 and the tires go up. The car is stupid fun to drive.

Awesome results! Quick question about your dyno graph, why does the torque and hp dip between 3700-4200 rpms?

Thanks

Maybe Ed will chime in here. He told me that most Vettes he sees have some dip in that area. You can put the exact same setup in an F-body and you don't see it. Has something to do with the exhaust configuration or intake. I'll have the FAST 102 on there when it come out along with a larger TB. Should be good for a few more. I'm still running the L76 intake. This is also through 3.90's.

That's all due to the intake manifold tuning length and the exhaust header tuning length having a spot that doesn't work well even with small cams. You can't have your cake and eat it too unless you have VVT!!!!

BTW Kevin, that thing is getting more and more impressive! Can't wait to see what the FAST will do... IF it pops up in the next year!

For some reason it's much more exaggerated in the ETC cars. Not so much in the throttle cable cars. The bigger the cam, the bigger the dip. Sometimes you can tune some of it out, but I've never seen anyone who could tune all of it out.

doesnt make sense since WOT is WOT...regarding a dip being caused by intake and exhaust as well regardless of cam size...my old TA with TEA 5.3s and a 230 232 cam with a fast 90 and some cheapo jethot LT's had no dip and carried power to 6800 without a hickup at all...weird stuff...my last dyno with the VRX5 had 2 dips in it...I'll post all the graphs im talking about later

Just for $hits and grins, someone overlayed my chart with a C6 Z06 from a "leading" LS shop. I'll keep my little 403 - thank you. It's amazing how you can F'up more cubes, better heads and intake manifold.

Heh...that's a pretty cool comparison. I'd say that's a pretty stout 403

Awesome torque #s.

This is before the last changes. My build vs a stock C6 Z06.
