I've seen a few write-ups on them over the years. Typically guys looking for a deeper exhaust note.
The mod was to install a byway pipe connecting the left and right side rear pipe sections just before they enter the exhaust baffle.
To me, it seemed like a p.i.t.a. to do the cut/install and not worth the trouble.
Do a search in this section, you'll probably dig something up.
