Well on the way home from a car show fried the trannie going to install rpm stage 5 want to replace stall with a 2800 can i get some input on those guys who are running 2800 stalls thanxs
2,800 is better for the street, 3,600 for the track, depends on what you want. I have the 3,600 with the RPM level V and its killer at the track but a little sloppy feeling on the street.
I have a Vig 2800 stall and it is a good compromise between strip and street. They say the Vig 2800 is roughly comparable to a Yank SS3200, I really can't say. I've seen where Mark-44 has run 11 sec 1/4 with Vig 2800, headers, vararam and DRs. With my mods, the Vigilante makes DRs a must at the track.
What are your plans for your car, which 2800 converter are you considering? There is quite a bit of difference between something like a Yank Stealth 2800 and a Vig. 2800 (really stalls at 3200 & is 9 inches and lighter) If you plan on going to the track with a lot of street driving also get the Vig. 2800 or Yank SS3200 minimum. How tight an SS3600 will feel depends on which gears you are running. I ran a Yank ST3500(nearly identical to the SS3600) with 3.73 gears before I installed my SS4000 and it had excellent street manners. Even my SS4000 has nice street manners with my 3.73 gears. Choose the right converter the first time. You don't want to be spending hundreds of dollars swapping converters like I did. So far I have had 3 converters PT2400, ST3500 and SS4000.

I run the Vigilante 2800, a Great investment. I also have 373 gears in my 04 convertible. It runs just like a stocker until you nail it, then Hold on! You'll love it! ...........
I have the Yank 3200, and I can't tell until I push it. Really no disadvantages, only quicker when you hit the gas hard. For a DD I would not go smaller or bigger.
