Default Back to the track...

Ran my new best at MIR this past friday.

60'...1.817
330...5.186
1/8...7.907
MPH...92.05
1000...10.223
1/4...12.176
MPH...115.24

My best 60' of the night was 1.789 but only ran a 12.293 at 113.91.

As some of you recall i ran few weeks back at capitol and couldn't hook that night. Best was 12.291 at 117.43 with a 1.895 60'.

I was having some issues friday night with a few things. I did swap shifter earlier that week went from a hurst to a c6z shifter. Which might have been a mistake... i had a much easier time with the hurst. I missed 3rd to 4th my first 2 passes, and also once more that evening. Not sure what was up. Felt like i hit a wall. Needless to say my 3-4 shift was pretty slow the rest of the night. I forgot to change the clutch fluid before i left for the track and could definitetly feel the effects from it. It was super hot in the reservoir and it was sticking big time at the end of the runs may even be the reason why i couldn't get it into 4th. Also found out my clutch is slipping if i come out of the hole too hard. Found my best run of the night was on a relatively easy launch. Also i'm losing mph...i blame the low tire pressure i guess or the slipping clutch because i didn't have any low mph at capitol. I was running 18psi and i didn't need to, it was hooking fine on 21. I'm running M/T ET Streets. Temps were higher then they were at capitol also but the track was prepped great all night for the real street/drag radial cars.

So...once again i'm where i was before. I need to keep practicing to get my shifts perfect, most of them were before my shift light even came on because i would bounce the limiter every time it flashed. I need a TUNE badly. Need to start at a higher tire pressure and work my way down. Just all around need to keep making more passes. I want an 11 sec pass as it sits and i know it has it in it. The mph loss really had me guessing most runs were 114-115 no higher. I attributed it to the slipping clutch/low tire pressure.

Unfortenetly the air is getting worse and worse as the season goes on...so i better hurry up and hit my goal before i have to wait till fall.

You're getting there!

Which shift light are you using?

Are you going this weekend? I'm going to try to hit MIR on Sunday.

I have the same shift light. Not sure how useful it is since it only has one shift point. Ideally, it would have 3. The 1-2 shift comes very quickly (even faster with more powa). My limiter is set at 6800, but I set the Raptor at 6400-6500. By the time it lights, it is time to shift quick! Then for the 2-3 shift, I can wait about 1/2 sec. The 3-4 I wait about 1 sec.

I played around with one where you can set each individual shift point, but it would get confused with the burnout. Didn't want to hit more buttons at the line so it is sitting on a shelf.

Ya i hear ya. I set my limiter higher with hptuners but forgot where i put it! Will have to check. I think my raptor is at 6500 or 6600 and limiter at 6600 or 6700. Im going to try and seperate them by like 200rpm so i have enough time. Dummy me forgot to bring my laptop to the track to log some of the runs to see exactly where i was shifting.
